'Rising Star Hordaland' Nomination

Marine Innovation has been nominated to the "Rising Star Hordaland" award. A total of six companies are nominated.

Monica Mæland deler ut prestisjepris. Innovasjonsprisen ”Rising Star” som årlig deles ut på vegne av verdens største konsulentselskap, Deloitte, i samarbeid med First Tuesday i Bergen.

Monica Mæland deler ut prestisjepris:

Byrådslederen sitter selv i juryen når verdens største konsulentselskap deler ut pris til næringslivets beste vekstskaper.

Konkurransen om å vinne årets ”Rising Star”-pris er knallhard. Kandidatene er:

  • Cleanhull (Rosendal, effektiv rengjøring av skipsskrog)
  • Escali Financial Systems (Kråkenes, utvikling av programvare for finanssektoren)
  • Marin-Innovasjon (Laksevåg, utvikling av avanserte elektroniske kontrollsystemer)
  • SeaBed Services (Ågotnes, ny teknologi for rensing av sjøbunnen)
  • Siem Wis (Knarrevik, teknologi for dypere og tryggere oljeboring)
  • SOhome (Bergen, mer effektive sambandsløsninger offshore)

”Rising Star” deles ut for femte år på rad. I juryen sitter byrådsleder Monica Mæland, professor Victor Normann (NHH), professor Tor Aase Johannessen (NHH) og partner Hogne Tyssøy (HolbergFondene).

Om innovasjonsprisen ”Rising Star”:

  • Årlig pris som deles ut på vegne av verdens største konsulentselskap, Deloitte, i samarbeid med First Tuesday i Bergen
  • Går til den fremste vekstbedriften i Hordaland som kan vise til radikal innovasjon og ekstrem vekst
  • Kandidatene er for øvrig blant annet plukket ut på grunnlag av økonomisk vekst de siste tre år, grad av innovasjon, produktkonsept og kompetanse.

Hvem vinner i år? Utdelingen finner sted under First Tuesday-arrangementet i Galleri Nygaten tirsdag 7. September klokken 19:00.

Marine-Innovation has been awarded "Subsea Upcoming Company of the Year 2009" by NCE Subsea. Mar-In received the price at NCE Subseas' general meeting the 27th May 2010.

New employees

Mar-In has employed three new engineers.

  • Espen Bjørn Steinsvik
    - formerly employed at Manpower (hired by Mar-In since 2nd March 2009), will join our software engineering team in Bergen from 3rd March 2010. Espen has an extensive experience in software development, comissioning and general electro engineering. While Espen has been hired by Mar-In he has been developing the control- and data acquisition system for Stadt Towing Tank at Måløy (www.stadttowingtank.no).

  • Øyvind Østensen
    - formerly employed as support engineer in National Instruments Norge, will run our Oslo office and work with software and electronics engineering. Øyvind has a Master of Science in electronics from the RMIT University in Australia.
    Øyvind will start 1st April 2010.
  • Yngve Skogseide
    - formerly employed at the University of Bergen were he has been working with his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (Development of hardware, firmware and software for the space instrument ASIM). Yngve has a Master of Science in Micro Electronics from the University of Bergen, in addition to a B.Sc in space technology at Narvik University College.
    Yngve will start 1st June 2010.
   

Oslo office

Marin-Innovasjon AS has employed Øyvind Østensen to run the Oslo office that opens 1st of April 2010. Øyvind has for the past three years been working for National Instruments Norge as support engineer. By locating an office in Oslo, Mar-In will be able to expand its' operational window, and enable close customer contact, and quick response to our customer in east Norway.

More information will follow when the office is officially opened.

   

Export Contract

Mar-In has signed its first contract related to export of electronics to Asia.The systems to be delivered are custom built data acquisition and control electronics.
Delivery will take place in may 2010.
